This yew was cut down in the mid 1990s.
In 1999 Owen Johnson recorded the stump girth as about 440cm (14′ 5”). It apparently died after an infection of Phytopthera, due to damp ground and composted rubbish at its base. A ring count revealed about 350 + years.
One of the surviving trees measured 289cm (9′ 6”) on a good bole and might be as old.
