Notes:April 2006 – Tim Hills: Arthur Mee’s description was of a giant yew higher than the roof. The church was rebuilt in 1964 after a fire which presumably also destroyed the yew.
In 2016 all that grows here is a young male that branches just above ground level. It was covered in ivy and another tree had also taken root at its base.
