Notes:

This photograph is the only record of the old yew at this site. Its appearance suggests that it may well have been planted at the time the church was built.
In 1988 the yew was measured for the Conservation Foundation’s Country Living Yew Tree Campaign. A letter to David Bellamy gave measurements of 12′ 2” (371cm) at 3′ and 13′ 4” (406cm) at 4′. A certificate giving an estimated age of 400 years was sent to the church.
