Notes:

1994: The girth of 23′ is found in Chetan and Brueton’s The Sacred Yew.
1999 – Tim Hills: This was perhaps a once much larger tree, with newer growth marking the edges of the old bole. A large portion of the original trunk can be seen but such evidence will disappear as these parts decay.
March 2015 – Peter Norton: The large fragmenting male yew grows close to the south porch. Sections of white wood on the west side are loose and will gradually fall away. The hollow shell was filled with dead needles to a height of about 3′. Many thick ivy stems prevented attempts to take accurate measurements. A younger straight boled male yew with a girth of 10′ grows nearby.
