Notes:The yew grows on private land, 60 metres south of High Lane on a lynchet bank of a field boundary. It is at grid reference SO61638023. It is a fine specimen with deep green foliage and appearing to be in excellent condition. Large stones removed during ploughing filled some of the tree’s hollows. It was measured at 4′, above which thick twiggy growth obscured the upper part of the bole. A girth of 19′ 7” (5.93m) was recorded. The tree is beginning to form the hollow horse shoe shape and some of the branches high up also appeared to be hollow.
