September 2005 – Tim Hills: In 1837 the ‘spreading yew tree’ only concealed gravestones. Today the large area beneath the dipping branches of this fine yew is filled with a shed, rubble, a wheelbarrow, several dustbins, decaying grasses, old piping, pallets etc.
