Notes:

This yew was recorded in the Terrier (inventory) of 1771. It would be useful to locate this document and see whether it includes a description of the tree. It is clearly many centuries old and has undergone changes in appearance. Beneath the thin covering of ivy could be found internal growth and decaying heartwood. Some of the wood on the outside of the tree suggests that it was once internal growth and there are clues that the tree has been larger girthed in the past. A metal brace installed to prevent two of the tall main branches from separating is gradually being swallowed up as new wood is laid down.
