Tree girth: 389cm

Girth height: at 45cm

Tree sex: female

Date of visit: 18-Sep-15

Source of earliest mention: 2015: Tim Hills

Notes:

September 2015 – Tim Hills: The yew appears to have been cut off at about 8′ long ago and now has much regrowth on the edges of the old core. Beneath the 8′ cut off point the old trunk is hollow or hollowing with red cubical rot clearly seen within. Girth of 12′ 9” (389cm) was measured at 1′ 6” above the higher ground, to avoid a bulging root on the south side.
July 2021 Brynley Andrews: girth 407cm (13′ 4”) at 50cm. Tree in good health grows about 8m from the east end of the church. It was pollarded at a height of about 4m, perhaps when the present church was built about 200 years ago.
There are also younger yews on site.
