Notes:

October 2016 – Paul Wood: Twenty metres south of the entrance porch is a large ivy covered mound overlooking the river Dore. On top of and on the east side of this mound grow two young yews of little more than 30 – 50 years of age. Closer inspection however revealed that an old yew once grew on the mound. I was able to locate the last remnants of perhaps two thirds of what would once have been an extremely large yew. These remains had a girth of about 18′, suggesting that the complete tree might have had a girth closer to 23’/24′. The young yew on top is clearly growing from the old shell while the tree on the east side appears to be separate.
