Notes:The largest yew, seen in the 1st photo, has a fine clean short stem with multiple shoots above, and looks as though it was formerly a pollard. Many other yews grow around the banks of the ponds, having girths typically of around 2.5 to 3 m. Another (2nd photo) with exposed roots grows nearby,
