Notes:The History and Topographical Survey of the County of Kent: Volume 2 Originally published by W Bristow, Canterbury, 1797 records that ‘In the church yard are two yew trees, the least of which is twenty-two feet and a half in girt’.
Today only one yew is recorded. It grows west of the church. Some of the hollow gaps have been filled with concrete.
Girths recorded: 24′ 7” (749cm) close to the ground, 25′ 3” (770cm) at 3′ and 22′ 9″ (693cm) at 5′.
