1791 (Gentleman’s magazine) :’The churchyard is large for the Parish, near half an acre. A large flourishing yew tree decorates it.’
c1980 Allen Meredith: This tree has lost a few feet of its girth since 1791due to storm damage. It is also restricted by debris and stones around the trunk.
February 2007 – Tim Hills: A fine tall tree. It has obviously had a wall around it at some stage. It gave the impression of having been cut off at 10’/12′ and new branches rise from this point. A smaller fluted male yew grows SW.
