Tree girth: 782cm
Girth height: at 30cm
Tree sex: Female
Date of visit: 3-May-98
Source of earliest mention: 1817: A three week tour into Wales -Paul Hawkins Fisher
Notes:May 1998 Tim Hills: A prominent internal stem will eventually become a significant part of the next stage of the Yazor Yew’s development. Fires lit in the tree have caused some damage. Girth of 25′ 8” (782cm) at 1′ recorded.
February 2006 Russell Cleaver: It looks a sad and broken tree, matching the ruined church beside it. The central stem looks like it was once an internal, aerial root. Its girth alone measured 8′ 0”/2.44m but it, like the other stems are blown out at about 25′ high. I measured the tree’s full girth as 25′ 11″ /790cm at 3′.
February 2016 Paul Wood: The tree is squat and of very green but sparse foliage. It has a bole of a striking red colour.
