Notes: First mention of a church on this site was in 1273. The present building is mostly 15th century. Six of the buttresses have sarsen stones under them, one of which is very large and protruding, so it is possible that this is a site of even greater antiquity. Canon EH Goddard recorded this yew for V.Cornish in 1946 as 'An ancient yew SW. Now a hollowed trunk, but with young bark over the old wood'. The yew in fact grows on the east side of the church.
