Notes: The site is northwest of the village of Funtley and is spelt Great Funtley Farm on ordnance survey maps 50000 and 25000. The timber-framed building is thought to have been built around 1510. It is still a farmhouse, although no longer part of a working farm. It is thought that it might have once been in the ownership of Titchfield Abbey. The yew grows on a small mound very close to the southwest corner of the house. Its vast crown spreads at least 25' towards the west, south and east directions, but less towards the north to keep clear of the house's end gable. On the old chimney can be seen at least four different layers of brickwork as it has been lifted over time to keep clear of the growing yew.
