Notes: The 18th century red brick church is of sufficient architectural merit to have been included in the Pevsner guides. It has now been deconsecrated and converted to a holiday let. The new church was built on the site of a medieval chapel, while around the church are hollow ways and platforms suggesting a shrunken or deserted settlement much larger than the hamlet which exists today. The best evidence of its medieval origins is the existence of an old yew.
