Notes: George Borrow (1862 - Wild Wales) reported an 'enormous yew' by Llanwrda church. Today three yews are found in this churchyard. The photograph shows the two largest yews in the foreground, with a younger specimen seen by the churchyard perimeter wall. There is also a large stump by the churchyard entrance - could this have been the yew described by Borrow? A second yew stump north of the church was reported by M.Rees-Hughes in 1993.
