Notes: The roadside yew grows at a place known locally as Sarnesfield Oak. This name appears on O/S 1st edition maps, produced in Victorian times, in recognition of a huge oak that once stood in the triangle of land at the road junction. The huge tree was cut down in the 1960s when the road layout was altered. The place name Sarnesfield Oak no longer appears on O/S 50000, 25000, 5000 or 2500 maps.
