Notes: The oldest yew grows SSW of the church and close to the wall separating the churchyard from the road. The church was a replacement for the ancient church whose location was over a quarter of a mile away by the Manor House. Since it was not built until 1841 we have to wonder why a yew with a girth that suggests an age of 500 years or more should be growing here. Was this perhaps a burial ground outside of the village? Or is its elevated position one where a yew might have been planted as a marker between villages?
