Notes: Edwin Lees in 1856 reported that 'Emerging from the wood on its eastern side we came to a seat beneath a yew tree, with fine expansive views'. This was sufficient for the tree to be located by Robert Bevan-Jones. Today the yew would appear to be on private land at the woodland edge. It can be seen from from the wood, which is in public ownership.
