Notes:The more northerly tree of the pair has been kept in check by cutting its numerous stems at the height of about 6′. This is similar to what has happened to the ancient yews at nearby Ystrad Aeron. While the tree is showing signs of recovering from this treatment, it now has to contend with excessive ivy growth. It was not possible to tape around the outer stems but I would estimate between 22′ and 24′.
