March 2012 – Tim Hills: Tree 1 on plan. Twiggy growth throughout tree hides all of its features. Thick foliage. Girth of 20′ 6” (625cm) at the ground, exaggerated by ivy, was recorded in 1999.
2012 Tim Hills: Girth increased to 20′ 11” (638cm) at the base of the tree. Any girth recording for this tree can only be approximate.
April 2016 – Paul Wood: The tree is as described in 2012, though the covering of twiggy growth is now so thick it even prevented approximate measurement. One side of the tree was also inundated with ivy.
