In the centre is a large old dead trunk which juts upwards and would have supported a 4th growth point. New life is now emerging from around this dead trunk. A large dead branch jutted outwards to the south. On the church side is a large hole leading to the heart of the tree, where internal stems can be seen. Girth of 19′ 1” (582cm) at the ground.
2015 – Paul Wood: Tree 4 retains all the features mentioned in 2000 with the addition of a gap developing on the east side of the tree at the ground. A girth of 19′ 3” (587cm) was recorded at the ground, an increase of 2” in 15 years.
