Tree ID: 94
Yews recorded: Ancient 7m+
Tree girth: 833cm
Girth height: at the ground
Tree sex: female
Date of visit: 22-Nov-97
Source of earliest mention: 1986: Churchyard yews of Gwent - J.Daryll Evans
Notes:November 1997 – Tim Hills: The yew is south of the church. Its bole is covered in a thick layer of twiggy growth. Several metres from it grows a young yew which appears to be a root layer of the parent tree. Measured over twiggy growth as 30′ 7” (930cm) but thought 28′ a fairer reflection of its size.
June 2000 – Tim Hills: A girth of 27′ 4” (833cm) around the base . Thought that any other measurement would not be repeatable because of twiggy growth, lumps and bumps.
October 2005 and February 2014 revisits – tree in good health.
July 2025 – Tim Hills: Very healthy green foliage, barely any yellow leaves. One side of the trunk obscured by elder etc.
