Notes:

August 2000 – Tim Hills: Tree 2 on the plan is much affected by ivy. In a decaying section can be seen internal growth connected to the main branch. Girths of 16′ 8” (508cm) at 1′ and 17′ 4” (528cm) at 3′ were recorded in 2000.
In 2006 a girth of 16′ 11” (516cm) at 1′ was recorded. At this time a pile of drying grasses filled the space beneath the tree.
2016 – Paul Wood: The piles of grass and other ground rubbish had been cleared from the tree. Its bole was almost clear of ivy. I would describe it as a three faced bole with a spine of dead and dying wood on the east side, and that this tree will eventually form the classic horseshoe shape. Its south and west faces were fluted and the north side very smooth. Measured at 1′ as in 2000 a girth of 16′ 9” (511cm) was recorded, an increase of only one inch in 16 years at this height.
