Notes:When I visited in 2004 I recorded a leaning hollow fragment of shell with an internal stem. I also noted that it struggled to be seen through ivy and that much of its foliage was discoloured. Girth of 14′ 1” (429cm) around the base was recorded.
In 2014 I was able to find several pieces of the original trunk, and girth around all of these pieces was above 28ft.
