Notes:

October 1998 – SE of the church. Its hollow space is filled with criss crossing root and stem material. Elder had taken root inside a tree already overwhelmed by ivy. Girth of 27′ 6” (838cm) at the ground.
August 2006 – Tim Hills: Ivy has been removed revealing the splendour of this vast hollow tree. Its huge columnar trunk retains its great girth for a considerable height. There were no branches below about 15′. At this height the yew is still hollow. Girth recorded as 26′ 9” (815cm) at the base.
December 2019 – Luke Steer: Girth of 7.375m at 1.3m recorded (approx 24′ 1” at 4′ 3”).
