Notes:

May 2009 – Peter Norton: Yew 1 is situated near the boundary fence approx 100yds from the cattle grid. Measured at 4′ to exclude a protrusion it was exactly 18′. At 1′ girth was 17′ 1” (521cm) . The tree is in the process of hollowing and will eventually split into two parts – about one third of the trunk has a gap right through.
December 2009 – Peter Norton: At SU244086 are approximately 20 – 30 yews growing on an east slope with the largest measuring 10′ 10” at the root crown. To reach them park near the information centre and then head east and across the Lyndhurst road and through the gate. A few paces down reaches a minor crossroads. Here take the r/h path and in a few paces at the first yew, turn off right through the wood keeping in line with the road. The yews are scattered throughout the slope.
