1988: A letter to the Conservation Foundation indicates the size of the lost yew: ‘Yew at west end of church by the churchyard gate – at 3ft. 7.7m girth and at 4ft. 7.4m girth. It is reported to have fallen in 1990. In addition the roughly circular churchyard has a partial ring of small yews around the perimeter – none of which exceed about 450cm’.
