Notes:

1999: The Caring for God’s Acre project has supplied the following information from a report carried out at Ratlinghope churchyard in February 1999 by Peter Norman Dip.Arb(RFS): ‘In comparison with many in the county it has a very good solid trunk and appears generally to be in good condition and vigour’. A recommendation was made to remove ‘the sundry items of rubble and concrete leaning against it or tipped under it’. This had been done by 2005.
1999 – Tim Hills: Of solid appearance with a fluted bole. At about 10′ it divides into many upright and lateral branches. A girth of 17′ 3” (526cm) was recorded just above the ground.
April 2015 – Tim Hills: I recorded 18′ 0” (549cm) at the same place, but this time noted that there was much low bushy growth just above the measuring point.
