Notes:March 2015 – Tim Hills: The most obvious old yew grows west of the tower and its roots encroach on the path that leads to the south porch. It is number 1 on the plan. A crack in the old dead sapwood on its west side shows that the tree is hollowing. A considerable number of branches below a height of about 20′ have by necessity been removed, leaving an open and attractive bole.
The lowest meaningful measurement was at about 1m, a height marked by a nail that somebody has hammered into the tree – at this height it was 16′ 2” (493cm). At 5′ girth was 17′ 5” (531cm).
