Yews recorded at this site: Ancient 4m-5m, Ancient 5m-7m
Notes: The field containing these three ancient yews was full of sheep. None is fenced off from the stock and it would seem that the landowners do not regard them as a problem. Indeed the trees are appreciated and will be safe for the foreseeable future. Two of the three recorded here are on the public footpath while the third is about 50m away on private property. While visiting this site a storm wind blew and I was able to witness just how flexible these trees need to be in order to survive this environment, in a valley that seemed to act as a wind tunnel.
