Notes:

1999 – Tim Hills: Tree 1 grows west of the church. Its hollow space was in use as a churchyard rubbish dump. Concrete was also propped against its bole. Girth of 17′ 5” (531cm) at 3′ and 17′ 1” (521cm) at 5′ recorded.
2012 – Tim Hills: Girths of 17′ 6” (533cm) at 3′ and 17′ 7” (536cm) at 5′ recorded.
2016 – Paul Wood: Tree 1 is as previously described, with concrete slabs stacked against a tree which is slowly disappearing under a sea of ivy. This is affecting great swathes of ground north of the church. The hollow of this fine looking yew was stacked high with general rubbish and there was also a lot of broken glass. It has had much of the lower canopy cut back in the recent past so there is obviously some notice taken of the tree’s presence. More however could be done. Although foliage looked sparse the overall impression was of a healthy looking tree. Girth of 17′ 6” (533cm) was recorded at 3′ over a little ivy on this fine fluted bole.
