December 2005 – Tim Hills: Largest of the Merdon Castle yews grows close to the site entrance. Bole intact around entire circumference. Tree 7 in Toby Hindson’s Merdon Castle article. Girth of 24′ 3” (739cm) at ground (6′ where land slopes away).
